When I graduated from high school, I was introduced to "fast food". All summer I only ate burgers, pizza, and unhealthy sandwiches. I quickly went from 150lbs to 180lbs. It was all fat and most of it was around my waist. I realized that if I continued this regimen, I would become obese before I was 21. I would also be more susceptible to illnesses such as heart disease and cholesterol problems. I joined a local gym and began researching different work out techniques and better eating habits. During this time I met numerous people who had similar goals and who were willing to share their experiences with me. It seems like every person I spoke to had a different workout routine. After a few months of training I developed my own workout routine. This routine has worked great for me. I also eliminated all fast food from my diet and started eating healthy. My initial goal was to get back to my normal weight of 150-160 lbs. I was so into my workout routine that once I reached my normal weight, I set a new goal: gain muscle mass. To reach my new goal I had to change my eating habits and training strategies. Now that I exercise regularly I feel full of energy and more confident. Working out and eating healthy is the best way to stay physically fit. I like to train. When I started training I thought it would be easy. I thought I would go to the gym and start using the machines. I quickly realized that there was a lot more that needed to be done to train properly. First I had to decide which body parts I would train that particular day. I also had to decide if I wanted to train to increase muscle mass or decrease body fat. According to Men's Health Magazin... half the paper... different meals. Each meal consists of 20 grams of protein from natural foods, such as chicken, fish or turkey. These meals are distributed throughout the day and spaced two or three hours apart. I also drink two protein shakes every day. I drink a smoothie in the evening and another as a morning snack. Incorporating a workout routine and healthy eating has dramatically changed my life. I am full of energy and feel great. Before this workout routine I constantly felt sluggish and completely out of shape. I am now full of confidence and constantly strive to increase my strength. Although it is sometimes extremely challenging to complete the workouts, the benefits are worth the effort. Work Cited Iknoian, Therese.
