Global warming is known, however, to have large impacts on the world, including increased intensity of heat waves, increased spread of disease, and melting of the polar ice caps (NASA). According to the United States International Paper “Climate change, or global warming, refers to any significant change in measures of the Earth's climate, such as temperature, precipitation, or wind, that persists for decades or longer” (International Paper). This is a natural event in the world, it is expected to happen. The weather becomes warmer, the rain begins to fall faster before retreating and becoming cooler again.
