I couldn't understand why this man hated the poor old man so much. I wish he had explained the reason for this, because I think I would have liked the story a lot more. He had no reason to brutally kill this man and I felt so much better when the act was over. The only reason I could come up with on my own would be that the man had mental health issues and a history of hallucinations. When I analyzed "The Lottery", it was much easier to understand what was going on. The third and final story I chose was “Araby” by James Joyce. I felt bad for the guy. It seemed that the boy was very shy and didn't have much confidence in himself. When he was finally given an opportunity, he failed. He seemed very happy to be doing something for himself and with his uncles' approval; in the end he was late to the bazaar anyway. He was very much in love with the way Mangan's sister acted, and when she finally spoke to him, it seemed that his attitude had changed and he was much more
