Have you ever had sex? At what age is it acceptable to start having sex? How does your society accept or affect sex? What is sex? What is sex called? What is a man's perception of sex compared to a woman's? I think about sex very differently than my grandparents say. These are just some of the questions I think about when I think about the true meaning of sex. How did sex arise in history? “Then God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply…” (The New King James Version Bible, Genesis 1:28). Sex is traced back to before Christ in the Bible. Sex was used simply to multiply creation and make man more, not used as entertainment but accepted nonetheless. “Early Christian leaders' aversion to sex extended to seeing marriage as a crime against God. Opposition to marriage waned in the Middle Ages as the Church became more secure. But sex was still frowned upon, even within marriage…” (History). What is sex? The definition of the year of the end of the 14th century. that emerges in an etymological dictionary is “state of being male or female, gender” (OED). This happened then, but that's not what I'm talking about at all. I'm talking about this definition, "intercourse". (Sex). It sounds easy enough, but it's actually much more than that. What does it really mean? I like to think that sex is much more than just the penis entering the vagina. Times have updated people. Now there is vaginal sex, where the penis enters the vagina. There is anal sex, where the penis enters the anus. There is oral sex, in which the mouth, tongue, teeth and even the throat are used. There is phone sex, where people stimulate themselves while listening to someone on the phone.
