The underlying basis behind traditional management structures becoming a hindrance to the international operations of America-based hospitality companies is the difference in the way the business world operates according to the laws of a foreign country. The traditional management structure used in American business will not always produce the same desired results in an international market. “In today's global, Internet-driven economy, the rapid movement of people and goods across borders means that the traditional hierarchical organizational structure can slow down a company's functions” (Huebsch, 2016, para. 4). Therefore, rapid movement in the modern business world requires a management structure that can be flexible to the rules and regulations governing various international markets. A hospitality company's American operations may require different methods and techniques from an organization's management team due to the climate and culture of the region in which operations are conducted. As a result, a lower level employee may have more power on board due to the lack of senior management available on a daily basis.
