The Nazis perpetrated many horrors during the Holocaust. They have enacted many cruel laws. They have brainwashed millions of people into foolishly following them and believing their every word using deceptive propaganda tactics. They forced many to suffer in embarrassing jobs and live in crowded ghettos. They created mobile death squads to exterminate their enemies. Finally, as part of the “Final Solution to the Jewish Question,” they created concentration and extermination camps. Another thing the Nazis did was use eugenics as another means of micromanaging the population. What is eugenics, you may ask? It is the field of scientific study or belief in the genetic improvement of the qualities, attributes and traits of the human race and/or the improvement of the species as a whole, usually carried out by controlled/selective breeding. Those with positive, desirable, and superior traits are encouraged to reproduce and may receive monetary incentives from the government to have large families. Those with negative, undesirable, or inferior traits may be discouraged from having children. They may be sterilized or subjected to dangerous medical procedures or operations with high mortality rates. I chose this topic because it attracted me and seemed interesting to me. In the following paragraphs the tactics, methods and propaganda used by the Nazis will be exposed. Adolf Hitler (the Führer or leader of the Nazi Party) “believed that a person's characteristics, attitudes, abilities and behavior were determined by his or her so-called racial makeup.” He thought that those “inherited characteristics (not only influence) external appearance and physical structure,” but also determined a person's physical, emotional/social, and mental state.
