Did you know that the Nazis are planning to start another war? Neo-Nazis have existed since the fall of the Third Reich. They convinced more people to join and support their cause. However, “Hitler's children” can be stopped, just as Hitler's SS and SA were stopped. But why are neo-Nazis active? Why do people join them? How can they be stopped? Neo-Nazis pose a growing threat and can be prevented from expanding their terrorist activities in the United States“Fascism is like a hydra: you can cut off its head in 1930s and 1940s Germany, but it will still appear on your doorstep yours in a slightly modified guise” (Coraline). Alan Moore, in this quote, is essentially saying that just because the group appears different from other groups, it is still under one leader. Neo-Nazi groups come in all different groups and ideologies. Skinheads, named for their shaved heads, are stereotyped as racist, violent, xenophobic, homophobic, and worship Hitler and his Third Reich. For example, Richard Butler, a neo-Nazi leader, told the Los Angeles Times, “I admired [Hitler] because it seemed like he was the only one getting up” (“Richard Butler”). Pierce, who was a leading figure in the National Alliance, has members who have committed bank robberies, bombings and are literally terrorists (Southern Poverty Law Center).
