Every student has a different way of learning. This includes study techniques that they believe help them remember lessons in class more easily. According to John Dunlosky, of the 10 commonly used learning techniques, distributed practice was found to be the most useful. Dunlosky said, “…they benefited students of different ages and ability levels and improved performance in many different areas.” In addition to the following quote he added “…these learning techniques, if used correctly, should help provide significant improvements in classroom performance, achievement test scores, and many other tasks that students will encounter throughout their lives ." He believes this technique will create change effectively and provide positive, responsive feedback. The study technique known as "distributed practice" is a technique that can be used in any subject simply by taking a practice test and spreading study sessions around. The benefit of writing your own practice test is that you write it based on what you know, so it helps you memorize lessons you may have forgotten. A practice test is basically like a review that you are creating for yourself based on your notes. As you begin the test and do the work, you are refreshing your brain. You are telling him not to forget the following because it is necessary and once this is done, everything starts coming back step by step. Rewriting things you've learned in the past helps you remember decisions you made in class and maybe even tips your teacher gave you. Writing your own practice test, or telling someone else to write it and have you answer it, is the best testing technique because you start thinking about the... middle of the paper... its therefore the best way a student can learn; teaching themselves what they have already learned. The only disadvantage that comes with this technique is the time it takes to master it. Distributed practice is considered time-consuming due to the time it takes to create a test, complete it, then check the answers and rebuild a tree. It takes time away from your schedule and time. However, Thomas Edison once said, "The three essential elements of achieving anything worthwhile are, first, hard work; second, perseverance; third, common sense." If you really want something you have to work for it. In life you are given nothing worth having. If you are a student who is struggling in a certain subject and is trying to study for the test, use this technique because it is useful even if it takes a lot of time.
