There are many important parts in the constitution, but the system of checks and balances is extremely necessary. With checks and balances, each of the three branches of government can limit the powers of the others, ensuring that neither branch becomes too powerful. There are three branches of government: the legislative branch, the executive branch, and the judicial branch. The legislative branch is responsible for formulating laws and is composed of Congress and acting agencies. Congress is made up of two parts, the Senate and the House of Representatives. Each Senate and House of Representatives have special duties. Senates can say yes or no to any treaty made by the president, they can hold a trial for a government official who may have done something wrong, and even say yes or no to any citizen recommended by the president for a job.
