After taking the OB, I would politely disagree with the first part of my friend's statement suggesting that OB courses are not useful in the real world. However, I agree with you that OB would be useful for people taking on managerial roles. I believe that OB can be very useful for almost anyone in the real world because concepts like personality and perception help people better understand themselves. So I believe that OB is one of the fundamental tools for today's managers' work environment. Some important OB concepts such as motivation, diversity, organizational justice and ethics are necessary for managers to understand and bring benefits to the workplace. A person or manager trained and competent in OB has the greatest advantage in being successful. To begin with, I would like to tell my friend how the OB course has been helpful for his personal development. The theme of personality in OB has been very important to how I understand myself. I firmly believe that effective individuals know themselves. They examine their behavior patterns to better understand their thoughts and emotions. Truly effective individuals strive to know themselves well so they can predict their own behavior. Self-examination allows effective individuals to be able to strengthen their positive behaviors and identify and work on negative ones. Studying personalities has given me a better idea of who I really am and how I am able to convey those personalities to interact with others. Next, I would talk to her about how important it is for a person to understand perception. Perception difficult to manage, I constantly make all the perceptual errors. OB can assist an individual in the skills of communicating well, listening well, and interacting well. OB then provides management with the necessary tools to understand the different types of people within the company and the possible ways of relating to employees. If management can understand OB and the interconnection between workers, company, product, and consumer, their company will be more successful.
