Large amounts of stress in a teen's life can lead him or her down a destructive path. This problem occurs every day and is a common occurrence in every teenager's life. There are many different causes of stress and even more ways it can affect a person. Many causes of stress can include: expectations from loved ones and teachers, family problems, social problems, and balancing school, extracurricular activities, and work. Some teens are very good at managing their time, while others don't manage as well. The effects of stress include symptoms such as insecurity, self-deprecation, inattention, and even depression. High expectations from peers, teachers and especially family, along with family problems, are some of the most common causes of adolescent stress. Some parents may not realize that putting too much pressure on their children to be perfect can end up damaging their self-esteem. This problem could be solved easily; parents must avoid creating unrealistic expectations for their children. For example, for many students it is not easy to get an absolute A, while parents should perhaps opt for A's and B's with nothing lower. Parents should encourage them a lot and should not overreact if their children are not perfect. But it's definitely not just parents who are guilty of this. Teachers can also be at fault, especially during high school, when students have five different classes and lots of homework to do. Many teachers believe that their class should be first on a student's priority list and may assign up to 2 hours of homework to a student without thinking about other classes. At the end of the day, students have an incredible amount of homework to do for each lesson and... middle of paper... has a huge emotional impact on a teenager and can lead to a difficult situation. more serious illnesses such as depression if not managed properly. In some cases, in the long term, it can lead to having to take medications for the rest of your life. All in all, the causes of stress can be high expectations, family problems, social problems and simply the inability to manage time. . People can learn about stress triggers and warning signs to look for if a teen is stressed. Having someone admit to being stressed or overwhelmed isn't always easy, especially for a student. However, once they can understand what causes stress, it's easy to change. That person can eliminate their problems or participate in an activity to relieve stress.
