Jesus was presented by John as the Word and according to John he is the Christ (Barnes, nd). We also see Jesus as the Lamb of God, as stated in “And the next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, Behold, the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). Jesus is called the Lamb of God because of his docility and submission (Isaiah 53:7). Jesus gave his life for us as a ransom which was a payment for us and became the atonement for our sins.
