What was once a great and powerful empire has begun to become a civil war zone. They created the Pyramids and one of the first recorded libraries. Although Egypt has gone through difficult times in the past, which it has recovered from, it will be more difficult to recover from the civil war it is in now once it is over. With war and economic problems causing people to frequently die from starvation or gunfire, Egypt struggles to survive and recover from its problems. Egypt continues to face fighting and the future does not look bright for them. Egypt was one of the first and largest countries starting in 4000 BC when the Lower and Upper kingdoms united to create one large country. It was conquered several times before becoming a country in its own right again. In 525 BC Egypt was conquered by Persia and remained under their rule until 332 BC Alexander the Great conquered Egypt from Persia in 332 BC and ruled until 30 BC After Cleopatra killed herself at the age of 39, the Byzantine province ruled Egypt. Napoleon ruled Egypt from 1798 to 1801, when Islam began to spread and Muhammad and his army took control. In 1869, the Suez Canal was finished and England took control. Ultimately, Egyptian nationalism succeeded in forcing Britain to leave Egypt. On February 28, 1922, Egypt became a separate country (geography). The Egyptian government began struggling with protesters and civil war in early 2011. They were having trouble keeping the crime rate low. and stop people from protesting against President Morsi because he was not keeping his promises. To help control these conflicts, police were given live ammunition and told to keep protests at bay (Abi-Habib). Police were seen firing into crowds of protesters and using tear gas... middle of paper... drove the Nile. But lately they've been having trouble keeping it all together as a country. There have been many protests across Egypt because their president has not done his job. He also did not pay attention to their economic issues. Even though he was kicked out of office, things are still not so good for Egypt as they have a long road ahead of them before things get better for them.
