Most students trying to get a college degree will not reach their goal in four years, most students will take five to six years to get a college degree. Not everyone qualifies for college so they shouldn't attend for free. Andrew Eichen says, “Free tuition would encourage many more students to attend college, regardless of their aspirations or interests.” Free university will also lead to overcrowding at public universities: “fee-paying students, who are deeply committed to their studies, could be placed in overcrowded classes or, worse, excluded from them. Whatever the outcome, free tuition would lead to limited capacity at public universities and, consequently, lower-quality public education” (Goldrick-Rab and Kelly). Free college would lead to a potentially overeducated and underskilled workforce. If everyone got a college degree, its value would decrease and the demand for jobs requiring a college degree would be too high and eventually the workforce would be unbalanced, so people with hurt college degrees would still have to work minimum wage jobs. More students will go to college and more students will eventually proceed to get a doctorate that they will still have to pay for. Not everyone is able to go to college, so they shouldn't go to college if
