Topic > Geiko's Use of Advertising - 985

Advertising has been a necessary evil since there has always been a need for a company or service to be well known among a small or large group of people. We all know the constant annoyance of advertisements during our favorite TV show or even while listening to the radio during a casual car ride to wherever you may be going. Unfortunately, with this constant bombardment of advertising towards ourselves, we have become tired of even the simplest ones. This indefinitely means that commercials need to be more eye-catching to get our attention. You might even say annoying, but that would imply you don't like them and we all know you loved the Geiko commercial when it first appeared on our TV screens not too long ago. While these commercials may not make sense to us as viewers, they were created specifically for us based on some speculation and decisions among the creators. Geiko has definitely, in my opinion, let go of its audience and how it thinks it works, so I'm going to focus on the still image ads for the simple fact that I can stare at them for hours until my eyes bleed and give a look in-depth description of everything seen. Definitely one of my favorite and classiest Geiko ads would have to be a Steve Jobs style black and white photo of the Gieko gecko wearing some rather stylish "hipster" glasses. Next to his photo on the left was a short reading: “Presenting a straight and serious talk about the nation's third-largest auto insurance company. From a spokesperson who doesn't wear pants." Followed by a rather long quote from the gecko himself about how he likes to work with a brief history of the company and some impressive statistics and then concl......middle of the paper.... ..and young people and helps them get publicity. All the commercials geiko has had or shown as far as I know have been mentioned or used in the future. Unfortunately for gieko, these commercials are still relatively difficult to watch, especially the most recent one of which is "cheese steak shuffle". This commercial does not advertise their product or service in any way but since the gecko is present we know what it is for and we know what they sell. other is a very elaborate strategy. Played in a way that they themselves created. I'm obviously talking about the repetitive ideas. We all know what brand is associated with the caveman and the gecko advertisers when they make such an ad. Whichever way you look at it, there's an opinion to be made about commercials and anything else you might look at.
