I remember learning this briefly in a child development course I took years ago. I didn't remember the outcomes of those phases (hope, will, purpose... etc.). I enjoyed comparing biblical views with these development theories. I look back and think about times when I was disappointed as a child, so sometimes I was without full hope and without complete purpose and as soon as I let God come into my life, He gave me those things. It was sobering to look back and see how God can provide for us when the world fails us. The early stages of Piaget's theory of cognitive development are familiar to me today through my recent work as a preschool teacher. See the different stages of sensorimotor and pre-operational thinking and how in each stage the child learns through exploration of their environment. My daughter is starting to enter the hands-on operational phase, so I'm excited to see her learning expand. I think as I look back at the course, it amazes me how complex God created our development
