The following essay aims to analyze in depth a computerized accounting system and its aspects such as its history, what technologies it is based on and how it has developed since its inception. Other aspects such as the current state of the system and interactions with other systems and the future of the system will also be covered in this document.1. The history of the system. Accounting itself is a system that people have used for thousands of years, the system records financial information about a person or business, businesses use it to be able to keep and monitor their financial accounts and other financial information in a secure and efficient. (Brooks, 2012)Thousands of years ago this information was engraved on rocks, books and in other ways, but it was very difficult to keep track and access the accounts as the system became complex. Previously, people had to search for financial documents in the rooms or places where they stored this information, which was time-consuming and inefficient. (Bellis, 2013) Nowadays, with the implementation of new emerging technologies, the way companies store this financial information has become computerized. Today, businesses use computers with a computerized accounting system to perform many other new tasks than they could do in the past. Companies can access financial information from different departments of the organization, access information via computers, and find financial data very quickly, being more efficient.
