Topic > A Quick Note: The Pros and Cons of Euthanasia - 1018

Some doctors were interviewed and admitted that they had administered heavy doses of drugs to relieve the terrible pain of their sick patients, knowing that high doses would cause a disease quicker death. In the words of Gabriel García Márquez in his book Of Love and Other Demons, “This is not true, but we do not have the moral authority to approve them (acts of euthanasia). What we do instead is what you just saw. We recommend the dying to Saint Hubert and tie them to a pillar to prolong and intensify their suffering." Saying that Márquez feels the same as me, because a doctor has to sit and watch together with the patient's family go through great bitterness and know that this person is suffering a lot. The doctor's main goal is to relieve pain. It is sometimes believed that families must make decisions about whether to take illegal actions to end the lives of their loved ones who ask them to die. Some, out of desperation, use a gun or hang themselves and do what they fear to do, but sometimes they are put in the position of helping to end the life of a child and a parent. These people face a lot of time in prison for what they have done. Such a disastrous situation would not exist if euthanasia existed
