The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli does not discuss the ways in which a man feeds his power-hungry mentality through gluttony, nor does it simply explain the altercations between the states of a nation. This writing is about how self-confidence can make them become powerful in a society and also how morals and politics differ and can be separated in a government. Originally, Machiavelli wrote The Prince to gain the support of Lorenzo de' Medici, who was governor of Florence at the time. Intended as a writing on how a society should be run, this book has been read by many people around the world who wish to have a better understanding of the perfect stability of beliefs and policies needed to run a good civilization. Enlightening people from the average Joe to the high monarchs of the countries, The Prince is one of the best, if not the best, politics-related books of all time. Machiavelli explains how to obtain power in a government and once obtained, explains how to maintain it. The first few chapters of the book set the tone for the rest of the writing. At the beginning of his work, he states that all high powers can be separated into two totally different groups: principalities and republics. The Prince is written with dictatorial regimes and not with republican regimes. Niccolò appears to be ignorant of republican regimes, meaning that, at the time, he didn't think this would get very far or help anyone. Machiavelli goes on to explain the various principalities and princes. During this explanation he creates an outline for the rest of the book. To become a prince, it says that it is not possible for a normal person to become one, since the way one acquires it is through inheritance or is established by the state... middle of the paper.... ..can be understood by anyone, but also addresses the perspective of the history student. Machiavelli composed The Prince as a practical guide to governing. He takes the time to explain how a country is governed. It also manages to tell the reader how a country should be run, what it would be like in a utopian type society. It will certainly give the reader a greater understanding of the governance of a nation. Machiavelli explains in depth what results from a citizen's inability to act on a problem. Additionally, it does a great job of presenting the reader with examples of what comes from what can be established in life. The Prince is not hypothetical or abstract; his writing style is simple and his logic direct. This piece of writing was honestly an excellent read and anyone who can read should pick it up to bury their head in and enjoy..
