Today, the Hispanic population has grown tremendously over the years. We have seen the growth rate of the Hispanic community grow faster than any other racial and ethnic group in the nation. Hispanic culture and communities have populated throughout the United States, introducing new traditions and customs. I was traveling to different cities in the United States, I noticed the widespread growth of Hispanic communities, for example in Miami the Cuban culture and El Salvador is very populated in the area. In New York, Puerto Rican culture dominates in all boroughs. I came to the city and Hispanics are known for their good food, which tends to make more diverse people try new cultural customs. Hispanics or Latinos are a group of people made up of distinct characteristics. Hispanics or Latinos are defined as a people of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, South or Central American, or other Spanish-speaking cultures. The Hispanic community represents many nationalities and ethnicities, including Mexicans, Cubans, Puerto Ricans, 15 Central and South American countries, Spain, and the Dominican Republic (Cattan, 1993). The Hispanic group is well known in business, politics, education, social economics and religion. Spanish culture influences a variety of areas such as music, food, language. Most languages have their roots in Latin. It is always good to learn about other cultures if we expect the same consideration when visiting other countries. Differences are what make life interesting. Most of the United States is based on immigration, which has made this country the most diverse. And the Hispanic group contributes to that diversity. Mexican Americans came to America to work and to seek middle life, giving spiritual meaning to Hispanic culture. I believe that one of the strengths of the Hispanic group is the spiritual balance and the importance of the family lifestyle. Hispanics are becoming an important part of the American economy and its community. Hispanic culture is as unique and special as any other and should be treated with proper hospitality like anyone else. From pop music to food, political campaigns and corporate marketing, the Hispanic community has had a very strong presence in the United States. I think as the years go by we will see the Spanish community become the majority, rather than the minority. I am very attracted to the Hispanic ethics group. I admire their traditions and how they are very family oriented. The overall Spanish culture has brought many traditions and culture to add American diversity.
