An obvious benefit to this management style is hearing several different opinions on solutions to a problem that can lead to better overall decision making. Employee engagement increases significantly by involving staff in this process, especially when the suggestions presented are incorporated into the solution. This approach teaches employees how to communicate with each other and actively listen to others' ideas. Additionally, this style encourages employees to solve problems creatively instead of just focusing on day-to-day tasks. New leaders will develop in this group context and, once identified, may be given additional responsibilities and be considered for future promotion. Employee engagement and satisfaction will increase as team members are empowered to solve problems. Using this leadership strategy has developed many informal leaders in my departments and I believe the vast majority of my staff have the ability to be effective problem solvers
